Church Camp 2007

Okay, I'm back from Church Camp. Actually I could have updated during camp cos NicLu bought the 24hours Internet Connection thingy from the hotel. But I was lazy so did not update. Gonna have to do a essay on the camp here.

Camp Overall Rating: 8/10
Hotel Overall Rating: 4/10

They said its not a hotel, but a resort. A resort is supposed to be better than a hotel right? Food was lousy, room kinda small, no safe, no room service!! can't think of anything else. Oh the the beds are kinda good. It's much bigger than the normal single bed. The size is like a queen-sized bed! Haha.

Day 1
Woke up at 6 plus to get ready. Went down to assemble at the fellowship hall before we left for M'sia. Blah blah... Stop at Yong Peng, bought gum. Then continue on to Genting. It was about 7hrs ++ journey i think. Once we reached I got into my room and slacked. Timmy and Loh came in and we started playing cards. After that we went to explore the place. The place has an Archery Range and a Horse Riding Ranch. 4 Tennis courts, basketball court and a volleyball court.
At night had Evening Fellowship at Phyllis' Room. Singing, Games then Sheep&Shepherd. My Sheep was Andrea. My sheep at YF Camp 06. Slept at 12am. Lights Off is at 11pm. Haha.

I'm just gonna write about the main stuff that happened.

Day 2
Woke up late, so didn't go for Morning Devotion. In the afternoon, played soccer with the Chinese COngregation guys and some guys from Galilee. I wore my new street soccer shoes and it kinda started to break. I'm not gonna buy Nike shoes anymore. Really bad quality. At night went to Nic's Room for fellowship. Had sharing. Kinda forgot what happened after that. I know a few girls and guys came over to my room. I think this was the night where Jasper slept at the balcony. Oh yeah, we just talk talk talk play until like 2.30am. Haha.

Day 3
Still managed to wake up for Morning Devotion, surprising. So we were supposed to go up to Genting Highlands on this day. Cos Timmy and Loh were leaving on Thursday. Before that, me and Hong Rui had to set up the keyboard for the Hokkien Fellowship but there were some problems. The rest waiting for us got kinda pissed and we got more pissed. Someone was like grumbling in the background when I was talking to someone else on the phone. Then I lsot my cool and shouted back. When we finally got it done, I told Hong Rui about it and when we reached the meeting point he just shouted at them. Then for the rest of the day it was already quite spoiled. We walked up to the Cable Car station and found out it wasn't in operation. We rushed back to the resort to take the shuttle bus to Awana Skyway, the other cable car station. But the bus was kinda full, so a few of us decided not to go. Then decided to go on Friday. I went to play tennis with those who did not go up. Woo, I'm starting to get better. After that, Galilee and Harvester came to play soccer. I didn't want to paly soccer. I followed Hong Rui and Philemon(nice name) to the basketball court. I call Philemon "Filament" and Hong Rui calls him "Tungsten". Haha. Okay, the basketball court was infested with mosquitoes. I just sat for a few seconds and my whole left leg was full of bites. Good thing I didn't get dengue. Yet. Went back and slack a while before going to bathe. At night went to Jane's Room. Was qutie late for it cos there was some trouble in my room. Loh was with me. Did I mention that the resort had a serious insect problem? Kay, they do. And the insects have serious problems themselves. It must be the cold weather or something. The insects or modified in size!! They are HUGE!! Okay so there was some funny sound coming from the curtain, Loh went to shake it and a gigantic cicada flew in. It hit my face and landed on my jaket which was on my bag. So we spent the time trying to get rid of it. Threw stuff at it and it did not move. We took the bads away and it finally moved. It dropped into a gap at the side of the wardrobe and the bag table. I rolled a half-filled water bottle in and there was some kind of squeal. Presumed that it was from the mutated bug. We decided to leave it there for the time being and went to Fellowship. After that, we employed Hong Rui to help us get rid of it. They caught it in a glass cup and Yi Ling was screaming like hell. Hong Rui and Jasper had a relationship with the bug. Jasper was staring at it and Hong Rui was doing that ET-Like thing with it. Finger touching finger on the glass. So they released it at the balcony and it flew away. This night, Loh,Timmy and Hong Rui crashed in our room. Hong Rui did some kinda stupid dance and I videoed it down. We joined both beds together then we slept. Played then sleep. We were all like whacking each other and Jasper was whispering cicada-related stuff into Hong Rui's ears.

Day 4
Woke up late for MD. But we still went. Hong Rui had a little trouble waking up. We tried to wake him up but one thing did. Jasper took his small rugby ball and raised it in the air, he was about to throw it when Hong Rui suddenly flipped around. So we just started whacking him and he smiled. Idiot. What did I do on this day? I played soccer first while the YFers were playing tennis and captain's ball. Then got this mata come and tell us we cannot play there, so we move to another place. And up everyone play captain's ball. I was wearing a red jersey, and Isabel was also wearing a red jersey. Both of us different teams but I think Yi Ling got confused and kept passing to her. Yi Ling was my team. We played for dunno how long then we stop. That night don't have fellowship. So we went to play pool. Hong Rui and the girls went missing. But I found out they went to the tennis court. Played pool for the whole night then we had a 'mee' party. NO NOT ME! MEE!! NOODLES!! Supposed to go my room but Jasper was already sleeping in his flower shirt. Haha. So we went to Isabel's room instead. Around 2++ we went back. As I covered myself with the blanket, I heard something VERY familiar. It was the stupid cicada!! Then I was like swearing under my breath. Then I told Hong RUi and went to sleep.

Day 5
Surprisingly nothing happened that was related to the cicada. Was late for MD, AGAIN. Phyllis called. But when both of us got ready it was already like 7.50am. MD ends at 8am. So we just decided not to go. Afternoon I went to Genting Highlands with Hong Rui, Shawn and Mabel. Shawn's parents drove us to Awana Skyway. Cracked jokes along the way, take picture blah blah. As we got higher my contacts started to get dry so I was blinking alot. At Genting, we played that Electronic Shooting first. We played the interacive mode first, my score was 83. Woohoo! Highest! Then we went to play Bumper Cars. They went to play some Euro Express thing while I waited in line for the Bumper Cars. I'm not a fan of rides. There was this round, there was one kid. We called him the "Headless Bumper" cos you couldn't see him, he drove with one hand can? But he was a zao-er not a bump-er. So that kinda takes his thunder away. Our turn we just whack like siao. Then we wanted to go the Go-Karts, but don't want to waste money cos we need to buy the full outdoor package, so we didn't go. We go some like free 6 arrows for the Archery Range, so we went there. I bought 30 arrows, me and Shawn share. The distance was quite short, but the targets were small and there were 4 of them. Out of my 15 arrows, only 2 missed! Haha.. We still had time, so we went back to the Electronic Shooting Range. This time we played the Marksmanship thingy. 40 rounds for RM18. My score was the highest again. 325. Hong Rui got 319. Shawn had problems cos he didn;t wear his specs. Mabel did very badly. The first 20 shots she miss all. Next 18 Uncle Tay Sin try to help her but he also miss all. Then the last 2 I help, got 6 and 6. So total she got 12. Shawn i dunno how much he get. After that we went back to the resort. At night we had the Testimony Night, Nic went up there and got emotional again. His mum also got emotional and he said to me,"I got my emo genes from my mum." It's human to have feeling right? Nothing wrong with it. Later went to Mabel's room to reveal Sheep and Shepherd. My Shepherd was Mabel. AHAHA. Supposed to be Marcus but they switch. After that everyone go thon at Nic's Room. Watch South Park, watch movies, play cards, play PSP, play DS and slack. A few of us went off to walk walk. I miss last year's camp. We go mess around, run around the hotel and play i front of the security camera. Ah.. good times. Then this year just slack in Nic's room. At about 6am I went back to my room cos I got sian already. Slept for like 5mins before Jasper came back. He told me to get ready for MD.

Day 6
Surprisingly, we were actually on time for the last MD. Although I fell asleep once during the message. After that I went back to pack up.Jasper left earlier and he left behind some stuff. I was supposed to take Coach 5 back but I switch to Coach 6, the I switch back to Coach 5. Ahaha. Trip back took 7++ 8 hours. We went a different route than usual. We got held back at S'pore customs for a while. Then we went back to church.

End of story.
